MKMODEL PKPD Simulation A pharmacokinetic-dynamic simulation of theophylline or ethanol. The MDLLIB.EXE program (part of MKMODEL) must be started with a Command Prompt shortcut. Two sample shortcuts are provided. PKPD_EtOH_98 is for Windows 98 and PKPD_EtOH_XP is for Windows XP (2000 and NT). MDLLIB.EXE must have the single argument "PKPD" i.e. MDLIB PKPD should be in the Cmd Line field. You must put the directory containing MDLLIB.EXE in the Working: field. After the program starts it will display a warning that the PKPD Data File could not be loaded. This is OK. Simply press any key to continue. Use the cursor keys to select either Theophylline or Ethanol (or press T or E) then press Enter (this program does not use a mouse). Press Enter again to start the simulation. You can Give a dose by pressing G then Watch the simulation by pressing W. Each press of W will advance the simulation a short period. You can Give a dose at any time. Other options let you change the Dose or the Time between doses. Comments to Nick Holford (n.holford@auckland.ac.nz)
